Last Goodbye in the Forest (2021)
This is my first experimental composition in my lifetime. I went to the Hamilton Lake Park, Greensboro, where I usually go jogging, to record some sound samples.
(The sound of water running, birds chirping, cars passing by, and my footstep)
The melody was inspired by a friend who is moving to other states soon. I am usually not good at saying goodbye, so I guess this is part of my process. I want to create a Zen atmosphere, and maybe this will be suitable for my future meditation when I miss the time we spent together.
This piece is dedicated to Douglas Black.
